About My Work
I am a 9th grade Humanities teacher at a project-based learning school called High Tech High in Chula Vista, California. My passion is to find creative ways to get young people excited about writing, as well as broaden their perspective of the world by introducing them to diverse writers, thinkers and innovators. My educational philosophy is that change in the classroom is a minute-by-minute process where I must be agile and quick to make adjustments in light of my ever growing students. As a project-based learning teacher, I believe that authentic learning experiences happen when students make real-world connections to activities, assignments and products that have a purpose to others outside of the classroom walls. Below I have included some examples these aforementioned, as well as other credits linked to my work.
